I moved to France in October 2007 and soon afterwards I had reason to call Barclaycard to query an item on one of my statements. I was told to cut up my existing Gold Visa Card and they would put a stop on my account until the problem was resolved and that I would receive a new pin number within a few days followd by a new Barclacard
.
It has now been 10 months and I have not yet received my new Card in spite of dozens of calls to Indian call centres and repeated e mails. I have been fobbed off by one Customer Service Manager after another telling me that my Card would arrive within 4 working days. I have been cut off so many times in the middle of a conversation or told to phone back in a few days if the card hadn't arrived by then. I am at a loss for words to explain how angry I feel at this treatment.

I was told only two and a half weeks ago by a Customer Service Manager at the Call Centre that my new card would definitely be posted immediately and I would receive it within 4 working days . To date - no card!

Why is it that you cannot get through to anyone at Barclay's Head Office to lodge a complaint?

I had a very apologetic e mail from a Customer Service Supervisor after I sent an e mail telling them that I was going to take the matter further with their Head Office and she also assured me that she would look into the matter personally and my card would be with me within 4 working days. When I tried to telephone this lady I was told she was not available and I repeated the whole story again to yet another Customer Service Manager.

I am normally a very patient person but I am sure anyone would agree that 10 months is quite a long time to wait for a replacement Barclaycard. I would just like to go back to the days when we could speak directly to someone in the UK and be treated like a human being.

That guy from barclays comments on Barclaycard are evil

I called today on behalf of barclay im very sorry but your call was lost in the system we will call you back in the next few days .... dont kill me >.<

jin comments on Free Life Skills Worksheets

life skill

Shaun comments on Barclaycard are evil

Absolutely anything connected with Barclays is evil, Erica - but I had to smile when reading that the call centre put the phone down on your local branch as well! The more people who see them for the lousy greedheads they are, the better.

More generally, congratulations on the wonderful organisation you have set up and work you are doing. I came across it via something you wrote on the Independent website about anti-depressants; and the ideas you have chime in with a lot of things I've been thinking over the past few years. There's an incredible amount of pain, disillusionment, fear/anxiety and fundamentally, lack of love out there: and so much about society seems designed to reinforce it, rather than listen to peoples' fears and really seek to make a difference. I'd like to think your work, and those of many others, will make a few people sit up and take notice: the crazy thing is how much change is genuinely possible, if only we are brave enough to really demand it!

Shaun.

PS. Not sure about the likelihood of Bhangra tunes in taxis though... ;-)

Suzy comments on Top Tips on Setting Up a Business

I like this no-nonsense, happy approach you have! This is such good work. Your sentiments about fear etc - spot on.

Re the post below on CSR chicks, I've got to say...relax! By judging it for not being what you want it to be, you are making 'it' wrong and creating distance, more of the separation you want to see disappear - instead, see it as a great way of communicating with 5000 different people. i certainly dont read every mail, but i opened yours out of curiosity and it bought me to your site. Glad it did!

with all good wishes, Suzy

Libby Davy comments on Phew!

here's my link btw, just so I'm not "anonymous".

Libby Davy comments on Phew!

I'm listening Erica! And I am agreeing with you most whole soul heartedly. Thomas Moore is a great source of comfort and inspiration. Looking forward to lots of real conversations shared "offline" in the "real world" if I dare use that expression. As someone who teaches blogging, I cannot get enough offline time. Balance in all things. Many blessings and congratulations for all the wonderful work you are doing, that needs doing.
